n8n SAP Connector evaluation checklist

Evaluate installation, licensing, permissions, pilot testing and operations for n8n SAP Connector. Read the checklist or download the PDF.

SAP and n8n teams can use this checklist together before a pilot and when deciding on a production rollout. Tick the items you have verified; ticks reset when the page reloads. Download the PDF to share or print it.

Installation and licensing

  • Assess the MIT-licensed n8n node separately from the commercial SAP connector module.
  • Check community-node installation requirements for the chosen n8n environment.
  • Install the SAP-side module and verify service and user access.
  • Separate the n8n plan, SAP module, installation, maintenance and any model usage in the proposal.
  • Record that this community node and the managed n8n–SAP product path are different deployments.

Pilot

  • Choose one permitted business task and test dataset.
  • Keep credentials in secure connection configuration.
  • Define user permissions, data scope and action boundaries.
  • Test unauthorized access and SAP service errors.
  • Check duplicate-operation behaviour when the workflow is repeated.
  • Identify required business approvals and recovery ownership for writes.
  • Verify version compatibility in the actual environment rather than assuming broad compatibility.

Operations

  • Assign ownership of n8n and SAP module upgrades.
  • Document monitoring, incident response and support scope.
  • Record acceptance criteria and the production rollout decision.

Exclude real system names, credentials, tokens, customer data and confidential tool schemas.
